Subject: Call for Letters of Interest – Dove Creek Ambulance District Board Appointment
Citizens of Dolores County,
The Dolores County Board of County Commissioners is currently seeking letters of interest from individuals who wish to be considered for appointment to the Dove Creek Ambulance District Board. The Division of Local Government under the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) has informed the Dolores County Board of County Commissioners that in accordance with C.R.S Section 32-1-710 the Dove Creek Ambulance District is facing dissolution due to:
- The Dove Creek Ambulance District did not hold or properly cancel the May 2, 2023 regular election
- The Dove Creek Ambulance District did not hold or properly cancel the May 6, 2025 regular election
As there are currently no duly elected District Directors, and the failure to appoint a new board would result in the interruption of ambulance services, the Dolores County Board of County Commissioners will make Director appointments pursuant to C.R.S. Section 32-1-905(2.5), with the Dove Creek Ambulance District holding an open election for board seats in May of 2026.
This board plays a vital role in overseeing emergency medical services within the Dove Creek Ambulance District ensuring the health and safety of our residents. We are looking for community-minded individuals who are committed to public service and have a strong interest in supporting the operations and strategic direction of the ambulance district.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a resident of Dolores County and reside within the boundary of the Dove Creek Ambulance District.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior experience in emergency services, healthcare, budgeting, or public administration is beneficial but not required.
